Cambrigde Audio has AV amplifier which is 6.1 type and model is 540R. The price is around $3XXX.

Yes Cambrigde 540R is an AV amplifier and the price is acceptable.  Unless one is going to 影音分家 one cannot expect an AV amplifier with very good music performance.  If one fonds of both music and movie 影音分家 is the best choice.   Of course $$$$$ and space has to be considered  for new hands an AV AMP I think is suitable unless he uses it for music only.  If affordable of course 金嗓子 is one of the best choices but then one have to pay more on the speakers and even though the power cord and the speaker cables to obtain the best musical performance.  You will not buy 金嗓子and use standard 5.1 sets of speakers

I really think it needs time (of course money) to gain the AV experience.  No need to buy so high end products at the initial stage la (except money and space is not the question)

I want to buy KEF KHT5005.  which one of the below is better ??

1.  Cambridge Audio 540R  +  540D
2.  Denon AVR1905  +  DVD2200

Please help !!

I tend to buy Cambridge Audio.  one of the reason is their cool appearance . . .

I have Cambridge audio 540R AVAmp...

Good musical performance and AV is okay too!!! (actually I like listen to CD than DVD)

I find that it's muscial performance is better than the Japan brand of similar $$...

Initially I use a cheap cheap DVD player to play music I am satify with it's performance.... until KYU take his CDP to my home I've found that buying a CDP is a good choice!!!

Afterall  I bought the Cambridge audio 640C CD player...
It match with the 540R with good musical performance!!!  

A good balance between $ and performance!!!!
