Depend on the model no. If the spec is good then it is acceptable. Because Topcon and 晶彩 has a 17" LCD TV (16:9) and the price just around $4300 and $3900 respectively. I suggest you search more other brand name model for contarst.

LCD TV 同 LCD MON...除了TV TUNER外 重有什麼分別?

LCD MON has DVI input but no TV tuner and LCD TV already bulid in TV tuner. The panel spec. of both is similar. Therefore if you buy the LCD MON then after you added a TV box it will become LCD TV (but you need to reserve the place for TV box). Most of the LCD TV will not give you the interface connect to computer unless your computer graph card has AV output.
