Different from "Solid Wood Flooring" "EF" contains several layers of plywood only the finish layer is Cherry.
About the coat you can say "EF" is a bit cheaper than Solid Wood. However the moisture resistance of "EF" is better than Solid Wood depends on what kind of wood..... Like the one (Red Cherry) be used in RC it is a fine material for moisture resistence (eg. Beech<Cherry<Sabeli)
