accuphase is a very good brand of amplifier but $$$$$$$ too expensive la.
A few thousands is even not enough for amplifier only.

I am using Onkyo TX-DS838 Integra I buy it 7 years before. Top model of Onkyo AV amplifier at that moment.

When I was brougth the amplifer 7 years before I have compare many different brand top model included Denon Sony Onkyo Marantz and Yamaha.

Demon strong but not soft enough.
Yamaha soft but not strong enough.
Sony is the worst.
Onkyo and Marantz is somewhere in the middle.
Finally I choice Onkyo.
I think which brand depends on what kind of music you like.

About Cambridge Audio it is for music only no AV function. We cannot compare AV amplifier and musical amplifier two different things and different function if you want see the moive with 5.1 it is no choice you must buy a AV amplifier. If you want only music only. No needed to think anyy more musical amplifier.

About musical amplifier Cambridge can said "a little below middle level".
If you really wanted go sound with cheap price you can try ShengYa with is a China brand name. The sound is really good but the price is low. 4000 HKD can have a very good amplifier. I try in Mongkok one ShengYa amplifier which is tude pre-amp and MOSFET power amplifer it have the feeling of tude amplifer but the power is strong. I think it is a very good choice.
