I dont have much experience with Pixel Plus as I am just about to owe one. But I might be about to give u some adivce onthis
There is only one vision of 37" Pixel Plus... HD and there is no SD. But if there were SD I would go for SD as there is no much different.
If u just watch it only for TV I think it is the best. But u can also try Panasonic too.. not bad.... If u gonna buy it ... remember to bring 2 things...
1st... a VCD e.g. matrix..!!! It is used for Fast moment testing... As some people complaining that they could see a blur image with moving images... you can try that to see if u could accept that problem ....
2nd... Ask the saleman to switch the Plasma into a VCD model without starting the VCD.. u know... the Blue color background...... That is used for testing the Black and bright spots....
3nd... Dont make the comparison just looking into both plasmas. Some shops are very sticky!!! well not some but most of them.... They would try to sell the plasma which have more commission than others... They would use the Advance or Super mode for that Plasma and use the Normal model for other plasma.. so u might think that Plasma is better... but actually it is not... Ask the saleman to switch all the plasms which u want to make a comprision with to a normal mode... Dont use TV for the comparison you would see a suck image. and they would all told u that it is a reception problem.. but it is actually NOT!!!... but very hard to explain here... so just use the VCD u bought to make the comparison.....
I bought a Philips 42" SD Plasma. I bought it in April and received just two weeks ago. At the time when I was choosing Plasma I look at all different brands and after looking at the quality and price I bought the Philips. For TV viewing it is almost the best comparing to different brands with the same price. The Hitachi one is ok too but it is a little bit more expensive.
Also because I install the TV to the wall the Philips plasma only require a rail of about 2 feet comparing to other brands that uses a square rail that uses alot of space.
The function of PixelPlus really can tell the different. You can go to the shop and ask the sales to show you by splitting the screen into with one screen using Pixelplus and the other without; you can tell by the one using Pixelplus are more solid.
When I ask the sales to play DVD at the shop the quality or the light level was not as good as the Hitachi but I was suprise when I tested DVD at home with the Matrix the quality was really good. I am quite satisfied with the product and I also received the 5.1 system as a gift although this system was just ok... well I didn't need to pay for it so its good!
