【東方日報專訊】財政司司長唐英年(相關新聞 - 網站)考慮在下月十日公布的財政預算案中，向怨聲載道的中產階層派糖，將延長居所貸款利息扣稅的優惠多五年，但會下調現行十萬元的供樓利息扣減上限。會計界指延長優惠有助恢復樓市。

十萬元上限擬下調

政府在九八至九九年度推出居所貸款利息扣稅優惠，納稅人可從入息中扣除最高十萬元的供樓利息作為免稅額，為期五年，即在當年已申請扣稅的納稅人，如果連續享用扣稅額，優惠在二○○二至○三年度完結。

Can anyone tell me how we apply 供樓利息扣減 and how do we calculate the amount that can be less ar?

There is a section 供樓利息扣減 in taxation form every year you fill in May/June if you want to apply you can provide information otherwise leave in blank.  Year end I believe the bank will send you the statement how much interest you totally had paid for your mongage so you could keep this statement for taxation dedcution.
