what is the average lifespan (2 or 3 years)?... Assuming the price is $36K Is it justified to pay $1.5k monthly for a machine last for 2-3 years?

I prepare to buy a 37" Plasma also. I have reviewed dthe catalog of may brand including SONY Hiachc Panasonic etc. I prefer the new model of Panasonic.
