位於中環第7號和8號碼頭的新天星碼頭，建築工程已大致完成，土木工程拓展署在數天內，把碼頭交予天星小輪公司展開內部裝修，預料11月啟用。
新碼頭以1912年的天星碼頭及其鐘樓外貌作為藍本，並設有咖啡座、餐廳，以及可欣賞270度維港景的觀景台。碼頭內商店的間隔，主要採用玻璃設計，確保不會遮擋維港風景。
土木工程拓展署高級工程師鄧錦輝表示，在制訂中區（擴展部分）分區計劃大綱圖時，已確認天星碼頭所標誌的歷史意義和作為旅遊景點的重要。
